I’ve spent the last couple of weeks or so hunting down an appropriate Easter basket for my delicious Godson who has severe issues with certain kinds of foods, including sugar and wheat. I did manage to find a super cute gluten free Easter basket complete with fuzzy, plush stuffed bunny, in case you were wondering…but in all that web surfing I saw some some really fresh basket ideas. Y’know, like using baskets that you can re-use, renew or recycle. I even saw two tons of crafty ideas for making unique alterna-baskets. (Side note, that cellophane grass filler ain’t recyclable.)

Some suggestions, if I may…

  • I love the look of a wicker basket, that you can then stick a plant in after Easter.
  • Birdhouses make the most yummy Easter baskets, which you can then tuck into a tree for your bird friend this spring.
  • Little trashcans (new, of course) can be decorated then transformed into individual recycling buckets! (Great idea, Rosie!)
  • Even a new, decked out mailbox would be freaking irresistible stuffed with goodies.
  • Some crafty little minxes learned how to turn used milk jugs into A-dorable baskets, that can then be recycled.
  • But to be honest, the perfect Easter carry-all is a dirtbag, of course…need I say it?

Any way you do it, have a fantastic Easter weekend! And, no, you don’t have to call Poison Control if you eat the whole tray of Peeps. I learned that the hard way. ;)

xo, Stace

P.S. If you’re gonna use the old school woven plastic basket, please hang on to it so the Easter Bunny can fill it again next year!
